Navy Beach - A Different Way to Spend an Afternoon in St. Maarten.

Within the secured area of Isle De Sol in St. Maarten, can be found the newest relaxation spot in Simpson Bay. Formerly known as Fat Turtle, Navy Beach Restaurant is a renovated little marvel that truly needs to be discovered and added to your weekly rotation.

Although being new to SXM, Navy Beach is a well known fixture in St. Thomas, USVI and Montauk, NY where it made its debut. It offers some impressive amenities such as a large bar, gaming and dining areas, a swimming pool with daybeds, a roof deck, and views into the mega-yacht marina and the Simpson Bay Lagoon.

Leyla, one of the partners, greeted our friends and us at our arrival and we immediately felt at home. The decor is part fun, part elegant but still 100% nautical and we LOVE it! The gorgeous pool centers the entire space while mega yachts surround the entire area during high season.

We order cocktails to start and our stomachs quickly start moaning once we look at the menu. A concise and inviting menu is offered for lunch, complete with salmon tartare, endamame, crispy fish tacos, burgers, buttermilk fried chicken and crispy Brussel sprouts to name a few.

The service is friendly, all smiles and detail oriented. With bellies full of tasty treats and libations, we went straight for one of the many sun beds to digest and nap (!). We, of course, also ordered more cocktails and relaxed the afternoon away.

* Is it for members or yacht guests only?

Absolutely not! As you drive into Isle De Sol, just show your ID to the security guard, let them know you are heading to NAVY BEACH and drive down the road to find parking right in front of the restaurant. Remember to drive slow for safety but also to help steady your yacht staring and envy. Have fun!
