The Back Story

Having owned iPhones since the very beginning, I can appreciate the value of these luxury items. Although, I also am guilty of not always being careful with these high ticket products in my hands. I ding, drop, scrape, bang and scuff my phones every single day.

I have to have a protective case for my iPhones.

I stumbled upon a catchy video where the guys from MOUS buy a new iPhone and fit it with their latest case and drop it from various distances without a problem.

Yes, this video is meant to be sensationalistic but I had to find out for myself. I bought their case right away despite the pricier tag to see if it lived up to the hype and boy did it ever.

Once installed, the phone never lives another naked second. There is also a huge benefit for doing this: Having the ability to resell for a better price. The second hand market for smartphone is huge and I’ve succesfully been reselling my phones for a few years now. There is no doubt in my mind that a year old phone that barely looks like it’s been touched will sell faster and for more money than a dodgy looking one.

My current iPhone 11 Pro Max 521GB has been protected in a MOUS case from the get go. This is my process; I only unbox a new phone if protection is ready to be applied to it. As soon as the crisp thin layer of plastic is pealed off, I wrap the phone with a MOUScase.

When comes time to replace it, I will be able to sell this phone for top dollars.

Something Wrong With My Order

A few days ago, I just ordered myself the brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max. I knew I was going to get myself a MOUS case and hopped on their website to proceed with my order. I’m not sure if it was my lack of focus that day but when I checked out my cart I realized I had ordered the wrong screen protector to go along with the case.

As you can see above, the case is for the iPhone 12 Pro Max but the glass screen protector is for the iPhone 12 Pro. I tried changing the order but it was too late and fulfilment was already processed.

Annoyed, I sent an email to customer service explaining the mistake I had made and assumed I would have to re-order. This is the email I received:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

I’m so sorry to hear that we’ve mixed up your order. I know a mistake like this can be very frustrating. Our warehouse team try their best to keep our picking errors as rare as possible but mistakes do happen occasionally.

Just so you know, there’s no need for you to return the incorrect screen protector to us – it was our mistake! You are welcome to keep it, or you could gift it to a friend or family member.

I have arranged a replacement screen protector for you. It will be on express shipping so it will be delivered a bit more quickly once dispatched and a new shipping confirmation email with tracking details will be with you shortly.

We are so grateful for how patient you’ve been here, and your replacement should arrive very soon.

My Mistake?

Talk about classy and effective customer service – They apologized for MY mistake. I have never written such a piece before to talk about the merits of a product or a company in this way. I’m extremely pleased to see that there are still companies that value customers and that can see the bigger picture.

Having used these products for the past 40 days, what do I now think?

There is nothing like them around. My Limitless 4.0 iPhone case is rugged yet stylish and thin. I love the walnut finish I chose, it makes it look clean and contrasts well with the hint of pacific blue that come through around the camera lenses. I’ve already dropped my phone a few times and the case has zero scratches or scuffs to show for it. Needless to say, I love it!

I installed the hybrid glass screen protector as soon as my iPhone 12 Pro max was out of the box and I can’t stop imagining all of the key scratches and scuff marks I would already have if it wasn’t for this extremely durable yet invisible layer of protection it has now.

It doesn’t affect the touch response and the pack I received comes with an extra screen for another phone or for replacement if really banged up (better the protector than the actual screen). This protection is under $30 which is waaaaay below the $349 Apple wants for a new screen replacement.

Next up is my black leather Air Pods Pro Case Protector. It’s again as stylish as the other Mous products I own but also functions as a keychain. It does’t affect the wireless charging capabilities one bit. It’s a must have!
